Lacy Kitchen Towel

Materials Needed: H hook, 2 colors of worsted weight cotton yarn

Directions:

MC- Main Color

CC- Contrasting Color

With Main Color ch 37

Row 1 - work 2 dcs in 4th ch from hook, *skip next 2 chs, sl st in next st, ch 3, work 2 dcs in same st* repeat from *to* across until 3 chs remain, skip 2 chs sl st in last ch, turn

Row 2 - ch 3, work 2 dcs in sl st just made on previous round, sk next 2 dcs, sl st into next ch 3 loop *ch 3, work 2 dcs in same ch 3 loop, sl st in next ch 3 loop* repeat from *to* ending with only a sl st in last ch 3 loop

Row 3-6 repeat row 2

Row 7-9- with CC repeat row 2

Row 10- 24 - with MC repeat row 2

Row 25 - ch 1, sc in same st, *sc in next 2 dcs, sc in ch 3 sp* repeat across, turn (34 scs) fasten off MC and change to CC

Row 26 - ch1, (dec sc, sc in next st ) repeat across working a dec sc in the last 2 sts, turn ( 22 scs)

Row 27 - ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (22 scs)

Row 28- ch 1, dec sc across, turn (11 scs)

Row 29 - ch 1, sc in each st across, turn ( 11 scs)

Row 30 - ch 1, (dec sc, sc in next st) across, turn (7 scs)

Row 31-46 - ch 1, hdc in each st across, turn (7 scs)

Row 47 - ch 1, sc in next 3 sts, ch 12, sc in next 4 sts. Fasten off.

Flower:

With Main Color

ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring

Round 1 - ch 4, *hdc in ring just made, ch 2 * 5 times, join with a sl st to 2nd ch of beg ch 4 ( 6, ch 2 sps)

Round 2 - in next ch 3 sp, work ( sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc ) in each ch 3 sp, join with a sl st to the 1st sc, Fasten off leaving a length of yarn to sew with.

Sew center of flower to round 46 and fasten off.
